Community spirit is alive and well in these parts as locals unite in their efforts to help Rhonda Barnes in her fight against Multiple Myeloma.

There are several fundraisers for Rhonda, better known as the drummer from Rockology, to help her defray the huge medical bills insurance doesn’t cover.

Right now Rhonda is being treated at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Cancer Hospital.

This Saturday, there’s a bike ride starting at the Black Bear in Pottersville at 11am,  with dinner at the Timberwolf Pub from 4pm – 10pm. There’ll be raffles and an auction.  Contact Helen at the ‘Wolf (518-532-9586) or Carl Russell (518-532-9241) for more information.

Also Saturday, Wendy Ryan, from Schroon Cycling, is holding several SPIN classes  with all proceeds going to Rhonda.

And Save The Date  -- September  14 – as the Schroon Lake Fish and Game  Club hosts a benefit featuring multiple bands playing that day in a “Rock For Ronda” concert. For more information, or to make a donation, call John Wardle at 518-480-3566 or 518-788-3918.
