Most folks are snowed in. Here at Schroon Laker.com headquaters we are chilling by a warm fire, reading and binge watching.

This just in: Paradox Brewery will be closed Sunday. Cofounder Joan Mrocka. tells us that out of concern for the safety of both staff and customers the brewery will be closed until Monday. If you need PDX beer, it’s on tap at area pubs and available in four pack cans at the Tops and Stewart’s.

If you know of more closings please let us know in our comments section.

Rest in Peace Linda Quinn

The sister of Schroon Laker Linda Quinn, Eileen, reached out to us to share the news about Linda’s passing

“I know my sister kept in contact with some people from Schroon Lake on Facebook. Linda was the daughter of Robert and Irene nee Harrington . My family moved to Schroon Lake from Ballston Spa when she was a few months old in 1953.

My parents owned and operated Quinn's Cottages on Grove Point Road for many years and I believe they named one of the streets in Schroon Quinn Way. Linda graduated Schroon Lake Central in 1971 and moved to Texas in the early 1980's but there has always remained an attachment to Schroon Lake. She visited a few times and always considered Schroon Lake home”.

The Word on "The Storm" From Tony Tenda

From Schroon’s Own Weather Legend, Tony Tenda:

Forecast for this weekend's storm is finally coming together. Storm is currently over the Pacific Ocean, but will come ashore today and be subject to better weather data collection. Winter Storm Watches have been posted throughout the Northeast. This is not a typical coastal storm, but a storm called a SWFE, south west flow event. From my experience these type storms give the Adirondacks their best snows. Example of a SWFE, 2007 Valentine's Day Storm, 38". I would expect these snowfall maps to be adjusted the closer to Sat. we get.
