Huge Celebration for Grand Re-Opening Celebration Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Fame

Mark your calendar: The Ticonderoga Fire Department is thrilled to announce they will host a Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Thursday, April 21.Activities during this fund packed weekend go through Sunday, April 24th. The event is cosponsored by the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce.

 From The Chamber:

Thursday, April 21st: Regular Bingo at the Ticonderoga Fire Department.

Doors open at 5:00 PM with Bingo beginning at 6:45 PM. Snacks and refreshments provided by the Ticonderoga Fire Ladies Auxiliary will be available for purchase. All are welcome to attend.

Friday, April 22nd: Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum Grand Re-Opening Celebration, Ribbon Cutting & Open House

An Open House at the Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame will take place from 5:00 – 6:00 PM with the actual Ribbon Cutting taking place in front of the Museum (weather depending) at 6:00 PM. The Ribbon Cutting will include speakers, museum tours, and light refreshments following the ribbon cutting. All are welcome to attend.

Saturday, April 23rd: Ticonderoga Fire Department Demonstrations

Demonstrations will take place throughout the day from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and will include Jaws of Life, Fire Extinguishers, Thermal Imaging Camera, Fire Trucks, etc. Tours of the fire house will also be available in addition to a guest appearance by Sparky.  Ticonderoga Fire Department representatives will also be on hand to answer questions in regards to becoming a Member and getting involved.  The representatives will be explaining all of the different jobs of a Firefighter. All are welcome to attend.

Sunday, April 24th: Super Bingo & Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum Open House

The Ticonderoga Fire Department will hold a Super Bingo (larger Bingo Prizes). Doors will open at 11:00 AM with an Early Bird at 1:00 PM. Over $2500.00 prizes. Night Owl Coverall will be $1000.00. Snacks and refreshments provided by the Ticonderoga Fire Ladies Auxiliary will be available for purchase including homemade desserts. A 50/50 raffle and basket raffle will also take place. Bell Jar tickets will be available. In addition from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM an Open House at the Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum. All are welcome to attend.

All events will take place at the Ticonderoga Fire Department located at Montcalm Street in Downtown Ticonderoga and are in coordination with a state wide initiative for Fire Departments entitled “Recruitment NY.”

“We are excited to announce that in addition to the Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum Re-Grand Opening Celebration we are implementing official hours of operation for the museum to give easier access to community members and visitors,” said Mary Cunningham, a Ticonderoga Fire Department Representative.

“We are honored to be working closely with the Ticonderoga Fire Department as part of the Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum Grand Re-Opening Celebration. We are excited that the department is implementing official hours of operation for the museum so that the public including visitors to the area can easily access the museum and its collection,” said Matthew Courtright,  TACC Executive Director.

Ticonderoga Fire Department: The Ticonderoga Fire Company No.1 formed in 1991. Ticonderoga fire is trained in many facets of fire and rescue. Also located at the fire house is the Ticonderoga Hall of Flame museum.

The Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum Hours of Operation: Year Round: Thursday from 1:00 – 5:00 PM & Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. In addition from Memorial Day to Labor Day the museum will be open on Monday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. The museum will be staffed by all volunteers during these hours of operation.
