Schroon’s 62nd Annual July 4th Parade and all day celebration is once again going to a spectacular event, promise organizers.

Old favorites are back, as well as some new surprises, Tammy Whitty-Brown told Schroon Laker today.

On a weekend where record crowds are expected to hit the road for this three day holiday, organizers hope many will make a stop in Schroon Lake.

“We have many of the crowd favorites back again,” Tammy told us.

Among them are The Blues Brothers Band and the wacky Funky Karnaval Percussion Comic Act.”

New this year in the kids fun area at the top of the beach in the town park will be cotton candy, popcorn and sno-cones. A portion of the proceeds go to the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce to help cover costs associated with the parade”.

“Expect to see floats from many of our town’s civic organizations and businesses,” Tammy said.

This year the Schroon Lakers of the Year-- awarded posthumously to Dan Riggins and his wife Kathy will be walking in the parade with their family, forgoing the traditional ride in a car.

“Dan and Kathy walked everywhere and this how the family wanted to honor Dan’s legacy,” Tammy said.

July 4th is a day where you could spend the whole day in our town-- with around the clock entertainment , with plenty of beach time.

And there is something for everyone   -- from early morning to the Fireworks Spectacular come nightfall.
