Get out Saturday and have fun, help others and do a wee bit of early Christmas shopping.

The Towne Store is full of terrific ideas for everyone in the family – from the littlest member to Dad. The store features an extensive selection of ADK themed books, including many from local authors, including two of our favorites, Ann Breen Metcalfe and Carol Gregson.

Looking for inspiration for your Thanksgiving table? Pinecone and Mercantile has new inventory that will add some extra zing to your celebration. Across the street pick up some North Country themed fine art at Giant Mountain Studio.

In Severance, Paradox Crafts will be having a storewide sale from 9 am – 4 pm, with free coffee and snacks. Local author Tina M Bowers-Plumstead's book  -- Chances of the Heart  -- will be available. For every purchase of her book, you get a free eyeglass/sun glass pouch.

Bring an item for the Food Pantry and Paradox Crafts will match it. There will be three additional vendor tables: Linen World, Pink Zebra and Plexus.

Tonight, the action moves to Witherbee's Carriage House for the live recording session of their latest project to help the Wounded Warrior Project.

Besides hearing some of the best musicians in the North County, there are raffles and a grand prize of an ADK weekend getaway. Kick off time at 6pm. Reservations are recommended.

Don't forget today's (Saturday, November 21st) Fundraiser for Frank the Bear Man  -- recovering from a recent chain saw accident -- at the  Chestertown Conservation Club, Knapp Hill Rd, Chestertown.

There are going to be a ton of raffles -- including many of Frank's signature bears, as well as gift certificates and baskets. It goes from 11 am  - 4pm. Proceeds fro the event will go to help with Frank's medical and living expenses.

A New Thanksgiving Tradition In Schroon

The new North Woods Bread Company  -- which is taking the North Country by storm -- is baking up a batch of Thanksgiving goodies.

Lisa and Ed are taking special orders for Breads, Rolls, Pumpkin Pies, Apple Walnut Sour Cream Pie and Cranberry Cheesecake Bars.

The cost of the Cranberry Cheesecake Bars are $12.00 for a 9"x9" pan and the rolls are 50 cents each for a generous-sized roll.

Their order deadline is Monday and pick-up time is between 12 noon and 5 pm Wednesday. On Friday their assortment  included Friday assortment Squash Toasting Loaves, Olive Oil with Sun-Dried Tomatoes,  Basil Rustic Loaves, Multi-grain w/Cranberries and Walnuts Boules, Parmesan Cheese Boules and Minis.  They are now selling Organic, Fair Trade Coffee, whole bean or ground.
