The Paradox Beer Farm

Paradox Beer lovers know why they love beer, but may not know it’s classified as a farm brewery.

In 2012,  New York State passed the Farm Brewery Law, which created a new license for craft brewers,  like Paradox, that use ingredients grown in state. In return, the state offered an exemption on brand label registration fees for small brewers, saving them a few bucks.

You can read more about how New York State is encouraging the proliferation of breweries like Paradox, in our Food and Drink section.

Giving Tuesday The Day After

We are passing on from our friends at the Adirondack Shakespeare Company a message for yesterday’s #GivingTuesday. This troop is an incredible asset to Schroon in particular and the Adirondacks in general. From Co-Founder Patrick Siler:

On this ‪#‎GivingTuesday, we look forward to a new year after what has been an extraordinary 2015. We had a season filled with eight incredible shows, twenty-four talented actors, thousands of Adirondack students and generous audience members. We had triumphs and staggering heartaches. But here we are, thanks to you, and here we plan for 2016:

- 10 productions in Spring, Summer, and Autumn
- Extended weeks of educational tours in Spring and Autumn
- Our first children's show educational tour in the Spring
- Our first Dramatic-Writing Competition
- Our first Annual Hamlet Conference &
- A continued search for a Home for ‪#‎ADKShakes
