Schroon's Shrove Tuesday

Who doesn't love pancakes? Like any time of the day?  The Schroon Lake Community Church's Shrove Pancake Supper on Tuesday, February 9th. has got you covered. Wanna know a tad more about the whole pancake deal?

Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were once forbidden during Lent. Shrove Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday and is therefore the final day before the commencement of Lent, the Christian festival leading up to Easter Sunday (Easter Day).

These puppies will be flipped by our own Town Supervisor, Mike Marnell, and served by church members. Your taste buds can start salivating  at 5 pm and end at 7 pm. Freewill offerings welcomed and appreciated.

Schroon’s Love Affair With Mexican Food

If you are a fan of Mexican food, there’s no need to head south of the border – just point your good selves south of down town, where you will find two Schroon mainstays, keeping Thursday muy caliente.

Sticks and Stones were the first to tip their sombreros with their Mexican Thursday’s, "Nacho Noche", presented by Eduardo. And we’ve just learned that Witherbee’s Carriage House is launching a Thursday fiesta night.

Check out both menus in our Food and Drink section.
