Your Big Weekend in Schroon

It’s the start of another huge weekend in Schroon Lake, which begins Friday morning. At 11 am it’s Crafts for Kids, when the Schroon Lake Library presents their  Ready, Set, READ! Program. Today’s activity is a Mini Basketball Game Craft (Call the library at 518-532-7737,    Ext 13 for more information).

Other highlights include the last performances of Seagle Music Colony’s The Elixir of Love - Donizetti (Sung in Italian with English Subtitles), the Marking Time Band at Witherbee’s Carriage House Restaurant and  the Willie Playmore Band performing live!@ Sticks & Stones, 7pm. Check out our Summer schedule, by clicking here.

Old Time Sing-A-Long and The Acoustic Band Jam Tonight

Tonight, be be sure to make it to the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society's old "TYME" Sing-A-Long and Ice Cream Social.

This annual event is held at at the Schroon Lake Boathouse, and is led by Sue Tillotson, who has directed numerous choral groups from community organizations, colleges and schools. Various talented local musicians will  join Sue in this free concert.

It's a throw back to a time when your parents or grandparents gathered around the campfire. and sang old favorites like "Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet," "You Wore A Tulip" and "Danny
Boy."  

Atter the sing-a-long at 8pm, the regular Acoustic band jam takes place.
