Meet Your Local Farmers: Black Rooster Maple!

We are hearing from a lot of happy folks who are loading up on fresh goodies and artisanal food products at the Schroon Farmer’s Market every Monday. This week we are highlighting Black Rooster Maple, a family run business in Keene, owned by Kirk, Kristy and Ryleigh Bassarab.

We asked Kristy for a little background on how they got into the business and how they got their name. Check out their stand on Monday, and read their fun back story in our Food and Drink section.

Art, Whiskey and Music In Schroon Friday Night

From Giant Mountain Studio Curator, Anthony Ruiz:

"This will be your last chance to see the Water's Edge exhibition art before we switch things up a little for our Texture, Depth Color exhibition coming in August.

For this event we'll welcome Eric Bright of BassRock Guitars (and possibly one or more special guests) as he shares music on the beautiful guitars he himself made using Adirondack "sinker" woods from our own Schroon Lake.

In addition, we'll be joined by the Lake George Distilling Company who will be offering small samples of their locally crafted artisan spirits such as Apple Pie Moonshine and Adirondack Wildfire Whiskey.

Art, guitars, and whiskey (spirits only available this night) will be available for purchase".
