Schroon’s Massive Garage Sale September 1st

Folks from near and far always look forward to the first Saturday in September, when the Schroon Lake Senior Center hosts their annual Garage Sale in the Town Park.

For some it’s a chance to pick up a bargain and for others a chance to offload stuff they no longer need.

Spaces for the event (a 12 x 12 spot will set you back $20) are going fast, Don Searles, from the Senior Center told Schroon Laker today.

You can reserve a place by visiting the Senior Center, across from the Tops Supermarket, or by calling 518 532-7755. Proceeds will benefit the Senior Citizens organization.

If you have old family photos in your collection, and don't know when they were taken, a history sleuth coming to Schroon may be able to help you solve the mystery.

Maggie Bartley -- Historian, Teacher, Author and  Elizabethtown, NY Trustee with Essex County Historical Society -- will present a slide show presentation "Dating Photos by Fashion” this Friday, August 3, at 7 pm at the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society.
