Runaway Home Runs To Schroon - Catch Them

The Schroon Lake Boathouse is gonna be shaking with the souns Americana roots music on Tuesday when Runaway Home -- Mark Elliott and Gary Culley -- takes the stage.

It's another stellar act presented by the Schroon Lake Arts Council.

Mark is known for his powerful rich tenor voice, once trained as an opera-singer before embracing his troubadour roots and logging countless miles as a solo folk and bluegrass artist.  
The Oklahoma native was a protégé of the legendary singer-songwriter, Tom Paxton.  After recording his debut album “Common Ground” in 1987, he opened for Paxton.

The Russ Bailey Trio plays this weekend at the 39th Annual Essex Day, one of several local bands at the event.  Enjoy Pine Box Blues, their new video, dedicated to the young farmers changing the landscape of the Champlain Valley Region.

From Russ:

"Their farms build upon a community that supports itself year round. Far north and cradled by the Adirondack Mountains, the growing season is short. In the winter these farms innovate in order to sustain themselves. These young farmers have brought light back into the region, the glow illuminates the work of local craftsmen, chefs, volunteer firefighters, teachers, and business owners, who all make this place wonderful. This music video serves as a tribute to the people that recognize how special this place is and with their own ingenuity make it even more special".

SLCS Class of 1978 are having their 40th reunion at the Timberwolf, Main Street. 4 pm - 8 pm.
