ORGANIZER SHELBY DAVIS (FRONT AND CENTER) WITH MEMBERS OF THE SCHROON LAKE EMS TEAM -- THE BIG WINNERS OF THE 3RD ANNUAL SCHROON LAKE CHILI COOK-OFF IN 2014

This just in from Shelby Davis, of the Schroon Lske EMS:

“Friends, At the Schroon Lake EMS Squad meeting this week, the Squad voted to postpone our February Chili Cook Off Fundraiser.  We felt the community's attention and generosity would be better directed towards the fundraising efforts in support of the Schroon Lake Community Church and Pastor Lynnette Cole.  There are a couple of fundraisers already in progress, including the Compassion fund at Mountainside, GoFundme campaigns, sales of t-shirts and other items.  We would encourage you to visit the Schroon Lake Community Church page or the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce, Inc. page for details on where to give.

We'll bring back the Chili Cook Off Fundraiser for the squad at a more appropriate time.  Thank you to everyone for their support and as always, if you are interested in becoming a member of the Schroon Lake EMS Squad, please reach out to any of our members for more information.

In Gratitude, Shelby  Davis.”

Donna  Torsiello was on the scene Friday as the Schroon Lake Community Church Bell was recovered from the charred structure. The badly damaged cross was also salvaged. Today, Sunday, services were held at 9am at the Lady of Lourdes Church. Their congregation has opened its doors for as long as need be to accommodate the needs of the Community Church.

Meeting Saturday On Schroon Community Church Fundraising

There’s a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce Saturday for businesses, organizations and other interested parties at 2pm to discuss coordinating fund raising efforts for the Schroon Lake Community Church.

From the Chamber: “There have already been a number of folks who have posted that they are starting funds, collecting donations, etc. We urge you to come to this meeting to coordinate these efforts; we will be working with Matt Curren at Glens Falls Bank (and a member of our Board) to open a discretionary account so that all money donations are properly managed”.
