Casablaca in Schroon: Tonight's the Night

It’s one of the most romantic and iconic films ever made, “Casablanca” — released not long after America’s entry into World War II, in 1942 — stars the one-and-only Humphrey Bogart as American ex-patriate saloon owner Rick Blaine and the radiant Ingrid Bergman as Rick’s long-lost love, Ilsa Lund. And it;s playing at the Strand Cinema tonight (Monday August 12).

The event is hosted by Jeremy Arnold, an author and film historian. He has been guest host on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) with Ben Mankiewicz.

All seats are $10.00 at the door. *8 pm - 10 pm.

Folk duo Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly are part of the stellar line-up at today’s 30th Annual Adirondack Folk Festival.

The highly praised husband-wife duo blends gorgeous vocals with an astounding array of instruments including the mountain dulcimer, old-time banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, limberjacks, feet and more.

Based in Warren, Rhode Island, Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly have traveled extensively for thirty years in the United States, with occasional trips to Ireland, England, and Canada, to perform as well as find their songs and dances. one by one.
