Snowmobile Safety Course For Youngsters

While our lake, river, beach and local hiking trails are a magnet for locals and tourists, the greater Schroon area is a huge draw for sledders. This can be a terrific family sport. Last year, many fatal accidents involving sledders in upset New York made headlines. Experienced riders know safety is such a huge part of this activity.
The Northern Warren Trailblazer Club is hosting a Snowmobile Safety Course at their clubhouse on Knapp Hill Road in Chestertown, primarily aimed at younger riders.

“As always the course is FREE and lunch is provided. Everyone is welcome however preference for open spots is given to the children that sign up. Olde Tyme Week Long Christmas Celebration

Bravo and congrats to Sue Palisano and Nicole Howe and their elves at the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce for putting together a fun, family themed week for our annual Olde Tyme Christmas celebration.
Now in its 34th year, the week features more than 20 activities. One of the new additions is a parade down Main Street featuring a brightly lit firetruck. Check out the poster above for a complete rundown.
