2020 Adirondack Marathon and Distance Festival Cancelled Due to Pandemic

Despite the best intentions of organizers to safely stage the running of this year’s festival, the event will now be run as a “virtual” event. That’s the official word from organizers:

“After much reflection and out of an abundance of caution in consultation with our Public Health Partners and others, we see no way forward this year as the Pandemic rages through the USA. Considering the rural nature of this corner of New York State, we believed we could produce a safe race for 2020 and made dramatic modifications just for 2020. However, the well-being of our community, runners, volunteers, and spectators is of paramount concern to the race committee. So far, we have only had 1 confirmed case of Covid-19 in Schroon Lake and the person recovered, and we must do our part in helping it stay that way!”

Organizers are finalizing details about how to stage the virtual event, which is slated for September 19th to September 27th, 2020. Runners will be invited to the run their event  at a time and location of their choosing.
