The 2010 census shows the year around population of Schroon fell by 105 people from the last count in 2000. The information comes from the Adirondack Asociation of Towns and Villages, in an updated report released last month.

The population drop  -- from 2000 to 2010 -- is 5.97 per cent, almost in line with Esex County's 6 per cent drop during the same period. 

The student population at Schroon Lake Central School dropped from 269 t0 246 --  23 pupils -- between 2007 and 2010. That's an 8.6 per cent decline. What would you do to attract more folks to Schroon? Tell us in comments or email is at schroonlaker@me.com
