According to the latest forecast, from the National Weather Service, it’s potentially high winds that could whack our part of the Adirondacks.
The folks at National Grid have sent us this advisory, which we are passing on to fellow Schroon Lakers. The highlights:

Power outages can be reported online or by calling 1-800-465-1212 in New England and 1-800-867-5222 in New York.
In the meantime, you might want to double check that you have the following ready:
• A battery powered radio. • A corded telephone (cordless phones will not work if the power is out) • Flashlights and extra fresh batteries. • A first-aid kit. • Bottled water and an adequate supply of non-perishable food. • A non-electric can opener. • Extra blankets and sleeping bags.
