It’s Opening Weekend for Schroon’s acclaimed Golf Course and it’s shaping up to be a tip top year. Much of the course has been re-seeded and an unsightly rough patch of bush and scraggily looking trees – behind the golf course maintenance building – has been removed.

“We’ve got a great forecast for the weekend and  next week so come on out,” Town Supervisor Mike Marnell told Schroon Laker today.

“We are working hard to improve the course. When we removed the area behind the maintenance building it opened up the course.”

In fact Marnell hopes to make the course even more open by eventually relocating the maintenance building.

“It doesn’t need to be there. We can dismantle it and move it fairly easily,” Marnell said.
