Among the many jewels in this crown of Schroon are the dedicated folks – both in the public and private sector – who spend an enormous amount of their own time making this a better place to live, work and play.

And you can see the names of those who have made a difference on a new plaque which hangs in the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce office on Main Street.

And nominations for this year’s Outstanding Citzen (or Group) of the Year are now open. If there’s someone you believe is worthy of this honor, the Chamber would like to hear from you.

Your nomination letter should include the accomplishments for which this person or organization should be honored. Include details of the achievements, volunteer endeavors and personal characteristics.

The nominee will be honored at the Chamber’s annual dinner in June. If you’d like to submit a nomination you must submit a signed letter of a nomination to the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce by May 8, 2012.
