Got Produce?
Farm fresh veggies, hand crafted cheeses, delicious baked goods and maple syrup any way you want it – today marks what locavores have been waiting a year for: the opening day of this year’s Schroon Lake Farmer’s Market.
Now through September, a variety of area producers will be selling their healthy goodies on the lawn outside the Town Hall. The market typically attracts food artisians who sell fresh veggies, herbs, honey, jam, local wine, sweet treats, organic meats and flowers.
We had a ton of fun last year putting together entire meals from our market forays. The food was delicious and we felt good about helping out a local farmer.
“There’s a lot of interest and excitement about the framer’s market.” Rosemarie Ritson, from the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce told us.
Did you go to the market today? What did you buy?
