Schroon’s Big Weekend
Only in Schroon this weekend, there are Christmas trees, a Huge Sale, and lots of yummy food to be had – all before or after a great day skiing at Gore Mountain.
This weekend is the opening weekend of Schroon’s Christmas Tree Sale – this year hosted at Sticks and Stones Restaurant. Why not grab a tree, and warm up by their huge fire, before or after you choosing your perfect tree.
The trees are an absolute bargain – compared to what Flatlanders are paying: Balsam Fir Trees just $35 for 6-7 feet and $40 for 7-8 footers.
The restaurant will be serving hot cocoa topped with homemade whipped cream and a candy cane.
And with just Christmas 24 days away, the Towne Store, is having an unheard of sale: This weekend almost everything is 15% off, (except the book section @ 10% off). There’s 50% of fall items, bathing suits, summer dresses & sandals, camping and sporting goods!!! And an amazing 75% off their clearance section!! The stoe is open 10 - 4pm Saturday and 11 - 4 pm Sunday. There’s also scrumptious eats at Drakes, Mr. P’s Mountain Smokehouse, and a $ 5.95 brunch at Joanies Baked Goodies. Check out great grub as Pitkin’s, DeCesares Pizzeria – with their fresh made Calzones, Alpine Pizza, The Timerwolf Pub, Flanagan’s Pub, Higher Grounds Coffee Shop, Morningstar Bistro, Shirley's Diner, Mt. Severance Store and Stewarts, with their festive Apple Pie and Pumpkin flavored Ice cream.
Meanwhile, today marked the re-opening of Witherbee’s Carriage House, after their annual fall break, now serving fresh pizza. And Open Mic, with Mark Piper, is back this coming Thursday.
