Lovin' Our Lakes (And River)... Lovin' the ADKs

How much do we love our ADKs? How much do we love Schroon Lake, Schroon River, Paradox Lake and Brant Lake? So much so that there is gonna be one big party celebrating all we love about our bodies of water  -- and all things ADK -- this Friday at the First Ever Adirondack Waterfest.

The event kicks off at 10.00 am in and around the Town Hall and Fields  in Chestertown, with a truly amazing line up of activities for every age group imaginable -- from music, to aquatic displays, to fascinating demos, to a magic show!

We are most looking forward to seeing the demo by Schroon Laker Eric Bright, the world famous guitar maker, who uses logs from the bottom of Schroon Lake to make his incredible instruments. That’s at 10.30 am -- the same tike we want to be at the Rain Barrel Demo -- where you can pick up a rain barrel for $10.

Then there’s the dog agility demo -- how could you resist those pooches!

And there will also be a live radio broadcast from the event on by Froggy on 107.1FM.

And did we mention the BOUNCY HOUSE - FACE PAINTING - BALLOON ANIMALS T-SHIRT PRINTING - LIVE ANIMALS - KIDS WATER GAMES

It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about local water quality issues including watersheds, invasive species, septic system maintenance and  shoreline erosion from local agency experts. You can also learn where to get innovative products from local ADK vendors.

There will be popcorn, sno cones, a bake sale and drinks. (and if you wanna make your own picnic -- pop across to the new Tops  -- directly opposite the event.

The event is sponsored by Greater Adirondack Resource Conservation and Development Council, Town of Chester, Town of Horicon, Brant Lake Association, East Shore Schroon Lake Association, Friends Lake Property Owners Association, Loon Lake Park District Association, North Warren Chamber of Commerce, Schroon Lake Association, Tri-Lakes Business Alliance, Trout Unlimited, International Paper Foundation, Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board, Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District, Essex County Soil & Water Conservation District
