Harry Balz: Close To So Many
The death of Harry Balz has impacted many Schroon Lakers. He was a huge part of this community and made many, many contributions. We are passing along a note we just received from his friends at the East Shore Schroon Lake Association (ESSLA).
Dear Friends,
On November 4, Harry Balz passed away. Harry was a valued member, past president and friend. To say we will miss him does not begin to say what we know. Harry served as president for many years and held ESSLA together while we searched for an identity. After serving as president Harry remained active with our board advising and guiding us. He continually supported ESSLA and always expressed joy at how active our association is.
It is not only ESSLA who will miss this man, but local towns and schools will also miss him. One cannot pass through Horicon or Chester without passing something Harry had a hand in creating. Those of us who worked with Harry on various boards and committees were always impressed with his knowledge and skill. He will always be remembered here. In closing we just want to say Harry Balz was a good friend and a good man.
