One of the 700 unique items at saturday's gokey's auction

In one of the biggest auctions of the year Gokey’s has more than 700 lots up for grabs Saturday at their huge facility in North Hudson.

Victorian era furniture is widely represented with various light fixtures and two marble top tables among the 100 lots of furniture. There’s also a wood burning kitchen stove and an enameled wood burning stove.

We asked auctioneer John Gokey what he considered the most unusual auction items up for sale.

“It’s a handcrafted 6 foot long to ship with 20 cannons. It features canvas sails and is about 4 foot high. It's something unique”

That item, along with much of the Victorian inventory, came from an estate in Westport overlooking the lake.

Outside, punters will 3 tents filled with various items, including one solely devoted to tools and hardware.

"It's the remains of a tool and hardware distributor we took on downstate. At each auction we do at least one tent full of items”

For those looking for a home decor items to add to their camps and cabins there are various oriental rugs, a deer head, Antelope mounts, old wooden oars, used kids skis and firemen’s turnout helmets.

There’s a collection of locks and keys 10 toys and a large copper tea kettle.  There are several water craft including a Sun Dolphin 4 seat pedal boat and 12 foot. Mirro Craft aluminum row boat.

“There's an old saying in the auction game… there is something for everybody, and this is applicable at tomorrow's auction,” John told us.
