Lakers Helping Others: One Student's Dream To get To Greece
UPDATED WITH CORRECT EVENT DATE. The Greek Themed Coloring Fundraiser Party is on Saturday, Nov 25th. Still time to RSVP.
Dejanira Plumstead, a student at SUNY Adirondack -- who calls North Hudson home -- is raising funds to get to Greece for the International Education program next year. Deijanira has started a bottle drive and a campaign at You Caring to help her raise $4,000 for the trip. Over the next several months, she will be holding fundraising events. On Saturday, November 25, she will be hosting a Greek Themed Coloring Party at the North Hudson Firehouse. For more information on that event, click here. Here is more from this determined young woman:
"I am making this group for an International Education program offered at my college, SUNY Adirondack. This coming May, (2018) the Anthropology classes (along with students from different majors) are taking a trip to Greece. This trip is for 2 weeks in and will count as a credit for college. The main reason we are going is to visit the heartland of art, science, anthropology, archaeology, and the humanities. Feel free to share this."
Best of luck, Deijanira.
