Ice, Ice Baby: Schroon Lake Style
“Great ice at the new Pavilion! Good job Pat Shaughnessy!”. Those are the words of Roger Friedman and we couldn’t have said it better. Today, Saturday, the spectacular new Schroon Lake Skating Rink and Pavilion is open for business. And a big congrats to everyone in the Town who helped make this dream a reality.
We believe it’s another positive step showing how local government — operating in a primarily summer tourist town like Schroon — can build its infrastructure to benefit locals and visitors.
We reported on how this project got its start in our December story, which you can read here.
The rink is free to use and you can borrow skates from the town. Call (518) 532-7737 for information. The town is always looking for ice skate donations. You can drop them off at the town hall or the library.
