Boater Charged with BWI on Schroon Lake
The Poststar’s Don Lehman reports on the arrest of a Warrensburg man charged with Boating While Intoxicated after running aground on Schroon Lake.
According to Don’s report, sheriff’s deputies charged Joshua J. Beadnell, 39, of Warrensburg with misdemeanor BWI on Aug. 3 after his boat ran aground on a section of the lake in the town of Chester, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Don reports that while boating traffic on area lakes has increased this seasond thanks in part excellent summer weather, local law enforcement say there has been a decrease in BWI arrests since they began a crackdown in 2017 after a fatal accident in Lake George the year before.
