Schroon Lakes Cares Program Profiles Flanagan's Pub and Grill
The Schroon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is asking for the public to lend a helping hand to 28 businesses directly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. This week the campaign features Flanagan’s Pub and Grill with an interview with Penny Edenfield.
More from the Chamber about this important program and how it works.
“The heartbreaking decision to cancel Schroon Lake’s iconic Fourth of July Celebration is upsetting to everyone. However, businesses that rely on tourism are incredibly at risk. The largest income our businesses earn is from the time before, during and after the July 4 week. And the loss of that income may have devastating consequences.
We know that "Schroon Lake Cares" about its small businesses. We are asking those who live in, visit, and love the Schroon Lake area to think about how much you would spend on dining, lodging, shopping and activities during the summer season - or have donated to the Fourth of July - and then make a gift to directly support our local member businesses.

You may also donate by sending a check made out to the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce and mailed to PO Box 726, Schroon Lake NY 12870.
Our businesses thank you for your support!
Many of you have asked how the money raised from the Schroon Lake Cares campaign will be distributed. Our primary focus is the support of Chamber members from the retail, restaurant and lodging sectors who are most affected by the loss of summer tourism. The Chamber's Fundraising Committee identified a list of 42 eligible member businesses who were each contacted and asked to opt in or out based on the criteria established, including the fact that funds would be equally distributed among recipients. While there may be some differences between businesses, they are all local, small merchants. Equal distribution of funds eliminates making a judgment as to whether one business deserves more funding than another, and why. A total of 28 member businesses opted in to the campaign. Funds are being deposited into a discretionary account at Glens Falls National Bank and will be distributed in late July”.
