Good Eats On Broadway

The MarsEILLE LUNCH PRIXE FIXE MENU

The MarsEILLE LUNCH PRIXE FIXE MENU

We know many of our readers who are avid fans of the Great White Way. On regular occasions they make the haul to NYC for shows.

There’s one couple in particular, Joe Steiniger and Mary McDonald, who have a standing monthly appointment. So it’s no surprise that Joe, a foodie extraordinaire, who hosts a most excellent blog, North Country Rambler, would know a thing or two about where to eat and drink, before or after a Broadway show.

You can read all of Joe’s recommendations, by clicking right here. On his list is one of our favorites, Marseille, at the corner of West 44th and 9th Ave, a retro French Bistro. It has an excellent value prixe fixe menu for lunch and dinner. Got a NYC favorite to share? Tell us in comments.

The Best Buffalo Burgers Ever

We love to barbecue – A LOT. And we love our hamburgers – A LOT. Every now and again we like to change things up with a Buffalo Burger. Here is our simple recipe for our burgers, which we grill. Remember, buffalo does not need to be cooked as long as hamburger, so you do not want to overcook.

1 lb. ground buffalo meat

1⁄4 red onion, finely chopped

1 - 2 garlic clove, finely chopped

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 pinch kosher salt

1 pinch fresh ground pepper

Skip the  salt and pepper for a big pinch of our favorite all purpose BBQ dry rub, courtesy of Joe Steiniger.

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, be sure not to over handle! Form into patties and fry or grill.  Serve as you would any other burger, with your favorite, fixins'.
