The new Tasting Room at Paradox Brewery

The Easter spirit is alive and well in Schroon – from various religious services around town and of course, the opportunity to eat and drink with family and friends.

The Northwoods Bread Company is accepting pre-orders for their Easter Hot-Crossed Buns for Saturday pick-up – so hurry. It’s six rolls for $8.00. Edward and Lisa follow  a traditional British recipe, using dried cherries,  apricots and raisins. Yummo! Hop on by or call 518-532-0220.

Over at Sticks and Stones, Gary and Steve have whipped up a very special Easter menu, featuring, among other tasty morsels, a traditional ham dinner, surf and turf and an Easter Basket featuring Deviled Eggs.

At Paradox Brewery there are many new beers to try out and buy. Their new cask aged offerings  -- sold in 750 mil bottles -- make perfect host and hostess gifts. Get one for yourself, while you are at it. Their hours this weekend are Friday: 3 pm to 7 pm,  Saturday:  12 pm to 6 pm and Sunday:  12 pm to 4 pm.

Meanwhile, Easter is very much in the air at Pine Cone Mercantile. Flowers are blooming in their window and they have their dining table set for Easter Brunch, complete with new, hand painted fern glassware, hand printed napkins, and some special Easter "touches",  according to Lisa.
