One of Schroon’s Biggest Summer Weeks: July 20 – July 24

Monday

The Schroon Farmers Market on the lawn at the Town Hall, starts at 9am. The early birds get the best selection.

At 1pm today the Schroon Lake Arts Council proudly presents Hercules and the Heroes, a great show for Kids.

Tonight is the Schroon North Hudson Ice Cream sing-a-long social combined with the acoustic band jam at the Boat House. 7pm. Proudly sponsored by the Schroon Lake Arts Council.

Tuesday

Schroon Lake Boat Tour, featuring a narrated history of the lake. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce. Tour leaves at 11 am. Hosted by the Chamber. This is a great way to explore the northern section of the lake, while learning about the town’s rich history.

There are Baaaack: FLIPSYDZ!!! What would a Schroon Lake Summer NOT BE if we didn’t see a performance from this doo wop foursome. It’s at 8pm at the BoatHouse, part of the Schroon Lake Arts Council’s sizzling Summer Series. Tickets are $5 for students and $12 for adults.

Wednesday

Friends of Schroon Lake Library Book Sale. There are deals galore here and they have a special kids section to occupy the little ones, while mom and dad check out the bargains. 10am  - 2pm in the basement of the Hudson Headwaters Building.

Children’s story time at 10is at the library.  Then between 11:30am  - 12pm kids get to read to Cooper the Therapy Dog.

Here’s only one place to be tonight for some great Family FUN -- The Schroon Lake Family Square Dance. 7pm @ the Bandstand in the park! Last week attracted a huge crowd for the second  dance of the season. If you have never been, try it!

The North Hudson Historical Society Presents an authentic Victorian tea. See the poster for more information.

Seagle Music Colony’s second production of the season – The Barber of Seville, premiere’s tonight. Call the SMC at 518-532-7875 for ticket availability.

Thursday

Arts and Crafts on the grass at the Town Hall from 10am.

Schroon Lake Boat tour, featuring a narrated history of the lake. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce.  Tour goes at 11 am.

At 1 pm there’s a special children’s program at the Library, with a Magician! Bazinga!

Monday

Tonight is the acoustic band jam at the Boat House. 7pm. Proudly sponsored by the Schroon Lake Arts Council. Last week we counted 12 guitars on stage, a banjo,  one dulcimer and two huge bass.

Your BIG Schroon Weekend: July 9 - 12 2015

Adirondack Shakespeare Company presents The Merry Wives Of Windsor at 3pm at the Scaroon Manor Amphitheater.

Here are your weekend highlights: Tonight check out the very cool presentation hosted by the Schroon Lake Association, part of its 2015 education series, with a performance by folksinger Dan Berggren. And famed Adirondack Photographer Carl Heilman.

These two ADK treasures will present an evening of music and stunning photographs at the Schroon Lake Central School Auditorium at 7:30 pm.

The presentation will be part of the Schroon Lake Association’s 2015 Membership Meeting, but is open to the public. All are welcome. There is no admission charge, but area residents and seasonal visitors are urged to join the SLA.

At 11am today there’s Kids Crafts at the Library. Pre-registration required.  518-532-7737.

At 7pm by George Parrott plays acoustic guitar at Witherbee’s Carriage House.

The fun packed World of Life Rodeo is at 7pm in Pottersville, and for amazing family fun, it doesn’t get any better than this.

Saturday

Gokey’s Auction has hundreds of lots up for grabs at their monthly auction. Preview is at 9.30am with the first hammer down at 11am. Check out the lots, here.

The Seagle Music Colony presents two shows of the Ugly Duckling Children’s Opera at the Boathouse Theater  @ 10am and 11:30am.

The Friends of the Schroon Lake Library hosts their regular Saturday Book Sale in the basement of the Hudson headwaters Building. From 10am  – 2pm.

At 11am the Paradox Lake Association hosts its annual members picnic at Spieser’s House.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Schroon’s own Paradox Brewery. The party begins at the Brewery at 12 and features two bands and a Food Truck.

At 3pm Schroon based Adirondack Shakespeare Company presents The Merry Wives Of Windsor at 3pm at the Scaroon Manor Amphitheater.

And hold onto your hats, as Michele Howland's band, "Son's Of Octomom" plays Sticks and Stones on the lawn.

Sunday

Check out the latest exhibit at the Schroon North Hudson Historical Society, featuring the themes of Transportation and lodging in Schroon’s Golden Age.

At 5pm it’s The Vespers Concert at the Seagle Music Colony. Check for ticket availability at 518 532-7875.

Sunday night Dylan Joseph plays at Witherbee’s Carriage House at 7pm in the loft.
