We’ve been inundated with inquires about when the ice went out for the annual Lion’s Club’s “Ice Out”. The exact time was 4:57 pm, on April 20! And there are three winners with the closest times, according to the Lions:

Lou Millspauch

Joe Medick

Bart McLaughlin

Congrats, All!

Raise A Glass To Grace

Check out this amazing glass from Paradox Brewery, sure to be a collectable for all 46ers (and those with aspirations of knocking off all of those peaks).

They will be available June 20th at the Grace Peak Celebration, a community event hosted by ADK 46ers at the North Hudson Town Park, recognizing the renaming of East Dix as “Grace Peak” in honor of Grace Hudowalski, the long-time historian for the 46ers and the first woman to climb the 46 High Peaks.

It's Always Ducky in Schroon

With the ice finally out, and the sun doing its best to show its face most days, Spring is finally here. And that's bringing a slew of flora and fauna with it. From the camera of Pat Thorne:

"This pair of mallard ducks welcomed back this weekend.  The male is one of the most easily recognized ducks by its colorful iridescent green-blue head.  The female is a drab mottled brown color.  The mallards are very vocal and call to other birds to come join them.  The female’s common name is Susie quacker and her voice is much louder and higher in pitch.  Enjoy.
