Special heads up for the Pre-Summer Folks: Books will be half price for June. Most prices are a bargain 10 cents to 75 cents!

Genres include adult and children's, including novels, biographies, Adirondack books, cookbooks, DVDs and talking books. If you have books to share, the Book Store needs them!, Please drop off your donations at the main library,  15 Leland Ave,  Schroon Lake.

Live Music This Week at Sticks and Stones

Tonight,  The Patty and Dave Duo, Dan the Music Man on Friday night and then....drum-roll please,  the legendary Willie Playmore Band Saturday night!

That's how they roll at S&S, where they recently celebrated their second anniversary. Watch this space for an upcoming story on what those two years have been like, but here's a teaser from co-owner Steve Holmes as to what he and partner Gary Tromblee have been up to:

"We have been quite busy over the last 2 years serving up over 15,000 pizzas, 10,000+ burgers and over 100,000 beers! Sounds like quite the party, and yes it is! We are very happy to be celebrating 2 years at Sticks & Stones Wood Fired BIstro & Bar in beautiful Schroon Lake, NY! We thank our great guests and employees who continue to support us and deliver great times in Schroon Lake!

Schroon Unplugged: Welcome Back Acoustic Jammers

It’s been a long, cold winter and a wild, wet spring,  but the music scene heats up tonight (Monday, June 8) with the year’s first Jam Session at the Boathouse Theater, at 7 pm.

The event is proudly sponsored by the Schroon Lake Arts Council, who have one of their best ever line-ups of their regular concert series for season 2015. Check it out, here.

As regular readers know, the jam sessions  are great place for local performers – and those here visiting and on holiday --  to strut their acoustic stuff. No amps, here, babe!
It’s a free event for all, as the musicians gather on the stage and pass around a tune. It’s magic to watch up to 14 performers at a time, (that’s our record) meld together and make some sweet sounds.

We hope you will make this part of your regular Monday night routine for the season.

Where and When: The Boat House. Dock Street. Schroon Lake. 7pm – 10pm.
