An official Happy Halloween from all of us here at Schroon Laker.com.  The day will  be in the high 40s,  as we enjoy the very, very last of the fall colors. Get out and enjoy, and reward yourself with an extra hour of sleep tonight, as we say a 'Schroon Lake see ya' to Day Light Savings time. Remember the set those clocks back an hour before your head hits the pillow.

As Frank Cavoli continues to heal, we thought it would be appropriate to reprise a feature we did on Frank a couple of years ago. As you will see, Frank is no stranger to adversity, and being a fighter is firmly planted in his DNA. You can read our profile on Frank, by clicking here.

Huge Effort To Help Schroon Sculptor Frank Cavoli

Folks everywhere are reaching deep into their pockets-- and coming up with novel fundraising events  -- to help Schroon Lake sculptor Frank Cavoli, injured Monday in a chain saw accident.

As of early Friday Morning, more than $8,500 has been raised by just 99 people in two days in a special online fundraising website, Go Fund Me, which you can access by clicking here.

Donations can also be left at the Glens Falls Bank, the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce and DeCesare’s Pizza.

And on Saturday, there’s an all day fundraiser sponsored by Sticks and Stones and the Paradox Brewery, called Frank ‘n Stein.

From 11am to 11.30pm purchase a hotdog (FRANK) and a Paradox Draft beer(STEIN) for $7.99 at Sticks and Stones. All funds will go to Frank to help with his medical and living expenses.

The idea for the event came about when about when S&S co-founder Steve Holmes was thinking about how to help Frank.

“We knew we had to do something. It got me thinking, hey, it’s Halloween, we don’t make a big deal about it and then the Frank ‘n Stein idea just came about,” Steve told Schroon Laker today.

“I called Joanie (Joan Mrocka, a co-founder of the Paradox Brewery) and they promised to donate all of the Paradox Beer. Sticks and Stones are donating the dogs which come from Jacobs and Toney's Meat Store of the North in Warrensburg”.

While  at S&S you can admire Frank’s amazing artistic carved bear dining booths. You can also see several of his creations in the Paradox Beer Garden, right next to Sculptures By Frank, where the accident happened on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Frank continues to make progress. He is up on his feet and is expected to see a surgeon today.
