ADK Shakes Plays Scaroon Manor Sunday

The talents of the Adirondack Shakespeare Company's actors know no bounds. From the concept of stripping down Shakespeare to it's bare-bones, and performing those productions in natural and unorthodox settings, these talented thespians are breaking the rules with big smiles on their faces.
And smiles are what you are bound to see today with their new production for kids: "Legends of the Vikings -- Thor," at the Scaroon Manor amphitheater. Written by company cofounder Patrick Siler -- with some very cool costumes produced by the cast -- this production will amaze and delight children of all ages. The performance features live music by the cast, as well as a nine-foot giant frost giant!
It's at 3pm and is free with admission to the park. Bring a cushion for your bum, as the old concrete is a tad uncomfortable! Sample fine beverages from Paradox Brewery, including soft drinks. (Suggested donation).
Danger Averted at Horicon Boat Launch

A huge hat tip to the boat stewards at the Horicon decontamination Boat Launch. On a recent Friday, a seemingly spotless boat from Saratoga Lake turned out to be something entirely - and dangerously - different.
From ESSLA:
“A thorough inspection of the mat after decon found a couple hundred zebra mussels that were still viable! Great job to the steward who sent the boat over, and great catch by our Horicon stewards! Thank you for all you do in helping to protect Schroon Lake and River!”
ESSLA, and their sister organizations the Schroon Lake Association and the Paradox lake Association, have a lot going on this summer
