Celebrate Fall at Witherbee's Octoberfest

If you happen to catch the sweet smell of a pig roast wafting south down Route 9 on Sunday, follow your nose to Witherbee's, for their first annual Octoberfest.

The parking lot will resemble a small German village with tents selling hearty fall fare, beers on tap with free kids entertainment and music by Schroon’s own Gregson Brothers.

"It’s gonna be a great day weather wise, perhaps too warm," owner Patty Christian told us. (Temperatures are headed for the low 70s)

"We've wanted to do a Harvest Fest for a while, and this year everything fell into place."

There’s something forever everyone. There’ll be apple bobbing, face painting and pumkin painting for the kids.

Besides the roasted pig ($12) there will be hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst and knockwurst ($2- $4). There’s also an awesome dessert table featuring several sweet treats, including pumpkin pie and caramel apples (various prices). Octoberfest brews from Sam Adams and Otto Creek will be available on draft for $3.
