What's Next For Mike Marnell

Town Supervisor elect Mike Marnell plans to familiarize himself with what the current Town board has been dealing with between now and his swearing into office on January 1st.

Marnell, who defeated current Town Board member Meg Wood, and Dennis Christian, plans to spend some quality time with out going Superintendent Cathy Moses.

“I’ve spoken with Cathy and she is going to go over some files with me in the weeks ahead,” Marnell told Schroon Laker today.

“I’m a civilian right now, despite my 32 years working and serving the town.”

Marnell said he will wait until he takes office before he sets a list of priorities.

Asked about why Schroon Lakers chose him for the job, Marnell said: “I’ve been here a long time, I know a lot of people and they know me and what I can do.”

Marnell said he wasn’t surprised at the result, but didn’t take it for granted that he would win. “Based on the results in the Primary, it was going to be close.”
