Santa to Schroon Lake: I’m Heading Your Way.

We’ve just received another Santagram, which contains the latest details about his visit here this Saturday. As we have reported, the doors of the Strand Theater open at 4pm in anticipation of St. Nick’s arrival at 6pm.

And while you are waiting, the good folks next door at Mr P’s Mountain Smokehouse and Shelby’s Kitchen Therapy will be supplying the crowd with free, homemade Popcorn Balls. We didn't have a clue what a Popcorn Ball was, until Shelby Davis filled us in.

It’s fresh made popcorn rolled in caramel and formed into a ball, so it looks like a big snowball. We may even do some with bacon flavor. That’s a recipe from my great grandmother.

Yum! And while you’re munching on your Popcorn Balls, check out the Face Painter who will be at The Strand. Just up the road a bit at the Senior Center there will be an activity for kids, free cocoa and cookies.

To recap what’s turning out to be a full on day:

10 am Christmas Bazaar sponsored by St Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the Community Church @ The Community Room.

10 am – 2 pm  Christmas Basket viewing and raffle ticket sales at the Grand Union.  Sponsored by the Schroon Lake Teacher’s Association. All proceeds help less fortunate local kids have a better Christmas.

4 pm Doors @ the Strand Theatre open. Cookies, kids activity and cocoa at the Senior Center

5 pm  - 7  pm Christmas Basket viewing and raffle ticket sales at Morningstar Bistro

5.30 pm Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Town Park next to The Fountain, followed by live Nativity procession to Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church

6 pm Santa Arrives @ The Strand

8 pm The movie, Happy Feet 2 @ The Strand
