It wouldn’t be Christmas in Schroon without the dozens of private homes and businesses that take it up a notch with their colorful and creative decorations.

And once again this year the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Annual Christmas Decorating Contest.

And they are looking for a few good elves to help in the judging of the contest, Rosemarie Ritson, from the Chamber, tells us.

The judging is the late afternoon into evening on Friday, December 14, 2012, with the rain date Saturday, December 15^th.

“This would be a fun time to drive around Schroon Lake to view the homes and business establishments and help select the winners for the contest,” said Rose Marie.

“We are looking for 3-4 people to judge the contest or it could be 2 groups.Perhaps a group from one of our local organizations would like to do this as a community project.”
