Schroon Lake Opening Weekend: Bigger And Better

Headliners: The Steven L. Smith Band

The list of events for Schroon Lake's Opening Weekend over the Memorial Day holiday continues to grow, with the center piece now being an all day "Tribute To The Troops" Concert.

Beginning Saturday, May 26, at 11:30 am -- and going all the way through to early evening -- a stellar line up of talent will perform at the Band Stand in the Town Park.

That's just a stone's throw away from Schroon's first ever Summer Expo, which will take place along Main Street and parts of the Town Park.

Applications from vendors are still being accepted and organizer Shelby Davis hopes that area businesses, artists, crafters, non-profits and community service groups will take advantage of the expo to promote themselves.

“We're looking for people to conduct mini-workshops, classes, or demonstrations of their craft, especially if it relates to living in the beautiful Adirondacks and on Schroon Lake,” Shelby said.

Vendor registration is free for members of the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce and non-profit groups and $25 for non-Chamber members. Click here for an application.

Here is the current line up of pefromers for "The Tribute To The Troops" Concert:

11.30 am Curtis Becraft, children’s songs
1:00 pm Curtis Becraft, folk songs and sing along for all ages
3:00 pm Mark Piper
4:30 pm The Gregson Brothers
