Live Life: Your Handy Guide to All That’s Happening In Schroon This Week

Summer is in the air, there’s a buzz around town that you can feel as everyone is getting ready for the Big Schroon Summer of 2012.

And with the official start of summer just two days away, Schroon Lake has a full week of activities ready for you to sample and partake in this week.

Monday, June 18

Starting tonight it’s the second week of the Band Jam at the Boathouse. Unamplified instruments of all shapes and sizes are welcome at 7 pm. Even if you don’t play, come and experience this fun summer tradition as you hear some mighty fine bluegrass, blues and folk music.

Tuesday, June 19

Citizen of the Year Ceremony honoring Kate Huston. Dinner and award presentation at the Word of Life dining room. 6 pm – 10pm. For details call 518 532-7675.

Wednesday, June 20

 “The official start of summer”.

Used Book Fair in the Basement of the Hudson Headwaters Health Building.  10 am  - 2 pm. Sponsored by the Friends of Schroon Lake Library.

Thursday, June 21

Adirondack Artisans and Crafters Market. On the lawn at the Town Hall. 10 am – 4 pm.

Open Mic night at Witherbee’s Carriage House at 6.30pm.

Friday, June 22

Live music at Witherbee’s Carriage House with the Upstate New Yorkers at  7pm.

Saturday, June 23

SOLD OUT Seagle Music Colony presents  “Old Friends and New”.  Performances by all 32 Seagle students.  518 532-7875.

Used Book  Sale – 10am 2 pm Basement of the Hudson Headwaters Health Building.  10 am  - 2 pm. Sponsored by the Friends of Schroon Lake Library.

NYS Free Fishing Day

Sunday, June 24

One Year anniversary party at Mr. P’s Mountain Smokehouse. Pulled pork or pulled chicken sliders, and chipotle brownies. $1 a piece! From 3 pm to 5 pm.

Schroon North Hudson Historical Society

Strawberry Festival and Winner of the Grace Hudowalski essay contest announced. At  the museum from 12 pm – 2pm. Essay contest winner announced at 3pm.

Free NYS Fishing day
