With cooler temperatures in the forecast, this weekend is gonna be classic early summer Schroon Lake weather in the 70s and 80s. Amen!

Tonight

Schroon Lake’s own DJ Vinnie Vinyl spins everything from hip hop to pop to the classics. Timberwolf’s Pub. 8 pm - Midnight. $2 Miller pints on draft.

The Upstate New Yorkers play the loft at Witherbee’s Carriage House at 7 pm.

Saturday

They’re back…the lifeguards, that is. Friday, Town Crews were getting the beach ready for the return of the lifeguards, with the guard stations, ropes and swim platforms all put in place. This year a crew of five fulltime guards, and three alternates, will be working until Labor Day. Go say hello.

That Word Of Life pontoon boat is gonna be busy crossing the lake with the first wave of hundreds of campers to Word of Life Island. Have a terrific summer everyone!

Used Book Sale in the Basement of the Hudson Headwaters Building. 10am – 2pm

New York State Free Fishing Day. During Free Fishing Weekend, anyone can fish the fresh or marine waters of NY and no license is required!

Our Lady of Lourdes Church. 4:15 Bishop Terry LaValley will bless the new church doors, before the regular 4.30 pm service. The Bishop is a busy man -- he oversees the Roman Catholic diocese of Ogdensburg which stretches from the shores of Lake Ontario to the shores of Lake Champlain, stretching along New York State's border with Canada.

Karaoke At Timberwolf’s Pub. 9 pm - 1 am. This Schroon Lake tradition – ten years old this year – lives on with an enthusiastic crowd, says Timberwolf’s Sarah Caza. Come on down and enjoy the party.
