Your Fun Week IN Schroon Lake

July 4th is right around the corner and there’s a ton o’ fun to be had leading up the big day. Here is your handy dandy guide to a fun filled week in Schroon Lake.

Monday, June 25

There's one Schroon Lake tradition that everyone loves -- and that's sitting back in air conditioned comfort, bag of pop corn in hand with a nice cold soda in a classic art deco cinema. Every night in the summer is movie night. Now playing at The Strand is Snow White and the Huntsman, every night this week 'til Thursday (when there's a new film) at 8pm.

Can you hear the twang of guitars and banjos? If not, get your ears and butt down to the Band Jam at the Boathouse. Unamplified instruments of all shapes and sizes are welcome at 7 pm. Do yourself a favor and check this out.

Tuesday, June 26

Zumba Queen Cathy Peace won a lot of new fans at the Schroon Lake Opening Weekend Demo she gave over the Memorial Day Weekend. Now, locals and the summer people can sweat off those extra summer calories in Cathy’s twice a week Zumba workout. Every Tuesday and Thursday mornings (8 am to 9 am) @ the Schroon Lake Central School gym, join Cathy for some rockin’ Zumba. $5 per class.

Wednesday, June 27

Need a good summer read? Wanna add to your CD collection? Head straight to the Used Book Fair in the Basement of the Hudson Headwaters Health Building.  10 am  - 2 pm. Sponsored by the Friends of Schroon Lake Library.

Thursday, June 28

Take home a slice of your vacation with something from the Adirondack Artisans and Crafters Market. On the lawn at the Town Hall. 10 am – 4 pm.

If you haven’t witnessed the wonderful talent that turn up at Open Mic Night at Witherbee’s Carriage House, who you missing out. The action begins every week at 6.30pm.

Check out the Summer Big Nights concert series sponsored by WOL. This week it’s music with Mark Harris at the Jack Wytzem Center at the WOL Institute in Pottersville @ 7pm

Friday, June 29

Ride ‘em Cowboy (and Cowgirls). The year’s first rodeo, with family fun and a live petting zoo, is back. WOL Ranch in Pottersville.

Live music at Witherbee’s Carriage House with local favorite Willie Playmore 7 pm.

Schroon Lake’s own DJ Vinnie Vinyl spins everything from hip hop to pop in this rockin' dance party. Timberwolf’s Pub. 8 pm  - midnight.

Saturday, June  30

Used Book Sale – 10am 2 pm Basement of the Hudson Headwaters Health Building.  10 am  - 2 pm. Sponsored by the Friends of Schroon Lake Library.

Karaoke At Timberwolf’s Pub. 9 pm  - 1 am. This Schroon Lake tradition – ten years old this year – lives on every Saturday night.

Big Building Materials Auction at the legendary Gokey's Auction House and Trading Post, Route 9, North Hudson. Preview at 8am. Auction at 10 am.
