Golfing For A Good Cause

When you can have fun and at the same time raise money for a terrific cause – you know you are doing the right thing.

And that’s what happened at the recent Schroon Lake Lions Club Annual golf day, where all the proceeds raised went to scholarships for graduating Seniors at the Schroon Lake Central School. And for the Lions, the day is a terrific way to showcase the other activities they do each year, and attract new members.

“All the participants had a really great time and learned quite a bit about the work that the Schroon Lions do for the Schroon Lake community and the world,” organizer Mark Whitney said.

“We had many compliments on the tournament and interest in our activities”.

Huge props go to Schroon Lake Golf Course employee Dave Valentine who generously donated a new hard case golf club travel bag for a raffle to benefit the Lion SEE project (Early Childhood program for Screening Eyes Early). That provided an additional cash donation of $145  for this important initiative. You can find a full list of winners of the day after the jump:
