Come spend a Sunday afternoon exploring some of Schroon Lake’s most interesting properties. The annual Friends of the Schroon Lake Library House and Garden Tour will take place on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 12 noon – 4 pm, rain or shine.

All proceeds will benefit the Schroon Lake Public Library. The tour offers visitors the opportunity to visit beautiful and unusual gardens, homes with soaring beams and windows, inviting wrap-around porches, beautiful lake views and unique renovations. This year’s tour will have something for everyone.

We are very excited to again offer tour participants free admission to a presentation by Kerry Mendez owner of Perennially Yours at the Boathouse Theater following the tour from 4pm – 5pm.

Perennially Yours is a unique cottage business dedicated to teaching gardeners of all ages the joy and satisfaction of low-maintenance, ever-blooming perennial gardening. She also provides seasonal newsletters filled with garden tips, featured plants, local garden shows and tours. Established in 1995 and located in Ballston Spa (NY), Perennially Yours is a family owned enterprise. More than 10,000 people have enjoyed her classes and garden talks over the years.

Tickets for the tour are $20 per person and are for sale at the Schroon Lake Public Library, located in the Town Hall Building on Leland Street in Schroon Lake, 532-7737 ext. 13. The library is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 – 4, Thursday from 10am -6pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am – 2pm.

Tickets will also be available on the day of the tour in front of Town Hall from 10am – 12pm. For people unable to attend the tour and wishing to hear Kerry Mendez’s presentation, admission will be $10.00 payable at the Boathouse Theater, 20 Dock St., Schroon Lake beginning at 3:45pm on July 29, 2012.
