We know Schroon Lake attracts the best of the best – from volunteers, our fine area businesses, to our performing arts scene, we are pretty proud of all the talent we have here. So it’s no surprise that Schroon Laker Georgia Burkhardt was recently honored for everything she does by the PostStar’s “20 Under 40”, which celebrates folks under 40, who have demonstrated “success and dedication to their careers and who are role models in their trades or communities”

“I was really surprised. It feels pretty good.” Georgia told us. “At first I wondered if they got the right person. It’s very humbling because there are so many people out there who give it their all every day.”

Alas, we think Georgia is a wee bit modest. By day she is the branch manager of the Schroon Lake Branch of The Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Bank. Among the many other hats she wears: Georgia is the Director of the Schroon Lake Association Arts and Crafts Fair, the Chairperson of the Schroon Lake Revolving Loan Fund For Small Businesses, she sits on the Advisory Board of the Seagle Music Colony and is also Schroon Lake Lion.

The honorees will be feted at an awards luncheon on Sept. 25 at Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference Center in Lake George. Reservations to attend can be made online at poststar.com/20under40.
