Getting More Than Just Books Out Of Your Library

Kids Crafts at Schroon Lake Library

With sub zero temperatures on many days so far this year  – there’s one place that’s been turning up the heat with endless activities: The Schroon Lake Library.

From free films for adults and kids, to computer training, to lessons on how to use your e-readers and ipads to check out e-books, as well as kids crafts and book groups, there’s no excuse to say there’s nothing to do.

And yet two more events has been added to the library’s busy calendar.

Starting this Thursday (January 31st) the library will offer free walk-in computer help every Thursday from 5:30pm  - 7:30 p.m.  Got a question about that new computer you got for the holidays, or how to use Word or Excel? Have no fear as the library will have it’s own genius bar of sorts, to help you out. The program runs until May 16th.

And beginning next Monday – on February 4 -  the library will offer a weekly story-time every Monday at 10:30 a.m, running until May 13th.

And mark your calendars for the next Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.  This month's book is Wonder by R.J. Palacio.

Each Saturday  the library hosts a drop in kids craft class, as well as a kids film at 1pm and a film at 7.30pm. You are allowed to bring snacks to make it feel like you are at the movies.
