Throwback Thursday: Scaroon Manor: The 1950s Summer Edition

History buffs and fans of the long gone Scaroon Manor -- feast your eyes on the above 8 photos, SchroonLaker.com recently acquired. They were taken over the course of two family vacations, in July of 1957 and 1958.

From these images, you can really get a sense of what the resort was like back in its heyday. Visitors to the site today only get to see the sorry remains of the once glorious orchestra and band shell, which you can see here (in pristine condition) in the background of the photo with the archway sign "Scaroon Loves You." 

Other shots show the golf course, shuffle board courts, the main building and folks having fun on the water and at the beach. We will be rolling out more this this delightful collection  -- once we get the images converted from slides -- over the next several months. Got Scaroon memories to share?
