Schroon's Community Garden in bloom. Summer 2012.
While the snow has barely melted off the raised beds at the Community Garden, now is the time to reserve your spot. Organizer Sharon Piper writes:
"We are now taking reservations for garden plots for the 2013 growing season. Please contact the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce to confirm your plot. The rate is $15.00 for the season and includes use of all tools and water".
This year there will be more direct sunlight on the garden, after the Town of Schroon removed a big shade tree along the side wall of the Higher Grounds Building. Check out our Community Garden page to learn about a wild way to grow veggies, herbs and flowers -- without soil.
