It's finally here -- Schroon's Opening Weekend, and there is so much to do, we don't have a clue where to start. That's why we have this handy, dandy link to all of the action this weekend, from the Summer Expo, to the Hot Air Balloon Ride, Free Children's Petting Zoo, rock and roll, garage sales and an Art Show. Oh, did we mention there will be specials at area restaurants throughout the weekend? And a chance to meet some incredible Birds of Prey? Weekend long sales, Art in the Attic reopens on Sunday with wonderful works of fine art and crafts from local and regional artists.

1 pm. Go Fly a Kite! Bring your friends for an old-fashioned kite flying rally. All ages and kites welcome.

Launching from the Schroon Lake Central School parking lot, tethered hot air balloon rides for an amazing view of the lake and mountains. Rides are $30 for adults, $18 for kids under 10. Reservations are required, call Shelby @ 932-1241 for info & available times. Weather permitting.

11 am—2 pm Patriotic Concert & Rally in the Jack Wyrtzen Center at the Bible Institute. The program will include many special patriotic numbers featuring the WOL Collegians, WOL male quartet, Robin No•l, tribute to all branches of the armed forces and Special Guest Speaker Captain Jeff Strucker. Many area veterans will be there and honored. Admission is free, and early arrival is suggested.
